Weekend in Dallas

Chris actually got a Saturday off last weekend so we made a trip to Dallas! We went to his aunts house on Friday night and then on Saturday went shopping at Babies R Us and went to the Texas State Fair. We had a great time but I forgot to take my camera most of the time so I have just a few pictures :(

The cute little drummer boy

Grammy practicing pushing Charlee

Checking things out and scanning away! The weather was so nice!So sad because Grammy had left him. Isn't that so sad?!

Charlee has been staying in trouble lately :) After we got back from Dallas my legs ached for about 2 or 3 days. Nothing could make them feel better or make me comfortable. Finally one night it just stopped! I was so excited to be able to sleep that night. I woke up an hour later with major arm pains...she had rolled on over to a different nerve I guess! Thankfully that only lasted a day and she moved on off! How dare she start causing her momma trouble already!! =)

We start our childbirth classes tonight! It's a little early, but we want to get it all out of the way before the holidays get here! This will be class 1 of 6, so we shall see how it goes!

Friends & Fun

We went to Wal-Mart a few weeks ago and bought a Scrabble game. I have NEVER played Scrabble before....and now I know why! Scott, Britney and Ashley came over and we decided to give it a try. Ashley and I were on a team together and somehow managed to win!! Woohoo!!

We also all hit up Hollis' seafood the other night. It was sooooo good!! I'm pretty sure Charlee is going to LOVE her some starches! :)

It's a ...................

Yesterday was the big day!! We had an appt @ 3:40 to find out what Raisi was! It was such a loooong day and I had sooooo many emotions. I was nervous, scared, excited all rolled up in one. I couldn't wait to see the little person inside of me, but was praying that everything was okay.

We got to Dr. Watson's office and found out she was in a delivery....AGAIN.....but this time we got to wait on her. An hour later we made our way back to the ultrasound room. My friend Jennifer, one of the nurses, was there today and always makes me laugh and calm me down. I had gained 3lbs. this time, so I am still doing good! She then told me that my blood was A- so I will have to take the lovely, painful, expensive shot and will wait to see if Raisi has to have one too. She then got the machine ready to go and headed out of the room.

As we waited for Donya to come in the room, we were getting TONS of text messages. We had a great time making everyone wait for the big news :) After a few minutes, Dr. Watson came in and was ready to roll! I drank a coke about an hour before we went hoping to "wake up the baby" so we would be able to tell what it was......and it definitely worked!! That little booger was squirming all over everywhere! Dr. Watson said we would just take as long as we needed to see some "parts". She checked out the head.....big......and the belly........pefect.......and the legs....long.....and the parts......GIRL!!! Woohooo!! Of course with girls there is always a little "what if", but she is pretty sure. (We're gonna check again next month just to make sure nothing has "dropped") She showed us the parts she was looking at, and Ill definitely take her word for it :) I did really well with my emotions and only teared up a little bit after she told us the sex. Chris and I were both very excited. She is going to have her daddy wrapped around her little fingers for sure!

So Charlee Michelle Riley is growing great and is due February 24th, 2010. I forgot to take pictures of the ultrasound pics, but Ill post them soon.

We wanted to tell everyone the news at the same time so we planned to bake a cake and all meet at moms after they got out of church. Everyone definitely had a hard time being patient and tried really hard to get some info out of us. We did really well holding it all in though! We did call Tim and Sarah first to let them know since they wouldn't be able to be here to see the cake (yeah, that really made mom anxious)! We got home and got to baking our pretty pink cake! After about 5lbs of icing it was ready to go and we headed down to moms and waited for the crowd to come. Then, we gave mom and Carla a knife and had them do the honors. As soon as they saw the pink, the screaming began. Everyone was so excited!!! We then watched the DVD and ate the cake (which was actually pretty tasty so they said).

It was such an amazing day that Chris and I will never forget! Now, the fun begins....shopping and decorating! :)

Trip to the doctor.....well the nurse

We had a doctors appointment....a week and 1/2 ago. We usually go later in the afternoon, but this appointment was right after lunch. When we got there we were very excited, because there were only 2 other people in the waiting room! That was a first and was awesome! After only about 10 minutes of waiting the nurse called us back. We were then told that Dr. Watson was at a birth and wasn't going to be there. (We later found out she had about 15 births that week!!) I was ok with that because I mainly wanted to hear the heartbeat, and had already missed all my kids for the afternoon and did not want to reschedule. I had gained 1, yes just 1 pound! I always thought I would be one of those people that gained too much weight throughout my pregnancy so I was very excited. Then the blood pressure check...perfect. 2 weeks in a row of low weight gain and great BP....woohooo!! I'm anxious to see how long this lasts :) The nurse then got out the doppler to check the heartbeat. It took her a little bit to find it and Chris and I were both getting a little nervous, and then the sweet sound came! I just wish I could listen to that all day, everyday! She then went through all the questions, checked to see if we had any, and that was that!! Chris didn't think we should have to pay since we didn't even see the doctor (hehe), but we paid the doctors house note on the way out (well at least it feels like we do) and made an appointment for.............OCTOBER 14TH!! That's the day we find out if "it" is a boy or a girl. We are so stinkin' excited and can NOT wait to find out! Hopefully our child will not be modest!

I don't have any new pictures, but I was looking at all of my pictures and just had to post this one from our honeymoon. I cant wait for the cold weather to get here and would love to be back in TN right now! :)

Labor Day Fun....Better late than never :)

Apparently Chloe thinks her mission in the backyard is to tree all the squirrels.....

And she also thinks she can chew the tree down to get to the quick little things......

She is as crazy as a dog can get, but she is still sweet and precious. We have been cleaning out the computer room/junk room so the baby will actually have somewhere to sleep :) Since the room is usually shut off, Chloe has really enjoyed being able to lay in there. I think she will be a good "guard dog" for Raisi!

We went to Dallas over Labor Day for a QUICK trip. We left town around 2:30pm on Saturday (since Chris had to work late) and everything was going great....until....we met the State Trooper!! Christopher was going a little fast down the interstate--81 in a 70--and was issued his first speeding ticket. I was so proud :)

Chloe Lou enjoying the scene down the interstate

We slowly made it the rest of the way and got to Dave & Busters in time to play some games. Dave & Busters is a huge arcade for kids (young and old). The rest of the crew was already there waiting on us....The Balls, Cheshiers, Tim, Sarah, Alex, mom and dad. We had fun spending some moolah and scoring some great stuffed animals for baby Raisi.

Sunday morning we got up and headed to Six Flags. I didn't think it was really THAT hot so I thought I would be good to go. NOT. If you are as hot natured as I am, do not go to Six Flags in the summer while pregnant. Definitely not the smartest thing I've ever done. Also the fact that the only ride I could get on was the carousel and I am a BIG roller coaster fan, so it was a bit boring. Some of the rides were closed down, but everyone had a great time and it was worth it!

Raisi's first trip to 6 Flags

Alex's first ride at 6 Flags. He loved it. Whenever a ride would end he would say "one more"

Enjoying the carousel with Uncle Chris

Chris and Bekah waiting in line...for like an hour!

Alex and I "chillin" waiting on everyone to get off a ride

Dad and Alex getting in a quick nap during the day

He made the day a little bit better!

This was how I felt about the day (and I'm not real sure what Chris is doing). My sweet man did go buy me a misting fan from a gift shop which was a great help to beat the heat!!

Alex is just so stinkin' cute! He was loving riding this train with Grammy

After we had all the heat we could take, Chris and I headed to Tim and Sarah's to cool off and went to eat with them at the California Pizza Kitchen...which is Chris' favorite restaurant so far in Dallas. We left town around 9:00pm Sunday night to head back home since he had to be at work bright and early Monday morning. I drove most of the way and....20 troopers later.....we made it home safely!!

My growing heart

Chris and I went to the doctor yesterday. It was a crazy appointment. (I was bad and I forgot my camera) After about 20 minutes of sitting in a waiting room full of people we headed on back. I climbed on up the dreaded scale.....and woohoooo.....I had gained no weight!! Since I had gained 6 lbs. last time, this was very exciting!! Next was the BP...it was perfect. Then the moment we had been waiting on.....we got to hear the heartbeat. She found it without any problem and it was beating strong and fast. It was such a great feeling to know that he/she is growing good and that he's really still in there =) I'm pretty sure my heart grew a little larger after hearing that!!!

Dr. Watson came in and after about 3 minutes, the lights went out. Apparently something had blown and a good portion of town was out. I had to have my blood drawn so the lady sat me by a window so she could see to do it by sunlight. That was no problem until she realized she had picked up the wrong tubes (since it was dark and she couldn't see the colors) and took an extra tube or so of blood. Oh well, at least I know I have plenty. Then the best part of all............their computers were down so they couldn't take our money!! Woohoooo!!! I was very excited about that! :) When we left the waiting room was still packed and we were glad we were heading out and not heading in!

Then things kept getting better. Our good friends Rebekah and Cricket Curl were in labor! Poor Bekah labored all day yesterday and this morning. But look at her beautiful prize:

Ashleigh Cheyenne Curl
8-18-09
12:46pm,
7lbs.
19.5".

She is just precious and everyone is doing great.

Being at the hospital with them made both Chris and I VERY ready for it to be our turn. Even though we have quite a few months to go, it made it seem a little bit closer. Just the excitement of having all the friends and family around waiting to get a peek at the baby was great. I could just picture all of our crazy bunch up there making fools of themselves and entertaining everyone at the hospital. Only 6.5 months to go!! =)

I know...I'm already a slacker

I know I have already been a "bad-blogger". Apparently we are as boring as I thought we were and I have got to get used to carrying my camera around with me all the time.

We did go to a wedding last Saturday night for Katey. Her grandparents have lived down the street...next door to my parents....since forever. It was a really nice wedding and the pianist was awesome....it was mom :) She had been practicing for weeks and she did a great job.

Mom and Cecil. He sang. She played.

Mom and the G-maw
Me and my handsome date. If you look real close, you can see my lovely blue jeans I sported to the wedding. Definitely not my first pick, but when nothing else in the closet fits, I just had to make it work. Chris was very happy to wear his too so I wouldn't be all alone :)

Tuesday was my last day at my summer job in Camden, so summer has just begun for me! Woohhooo!! It will involve a lot of cleaning and organizing.....or at least that's the plan for now, we'll see what happens. I am VERY ready for school to start though. I miss my routine, kids and of course my paycheck!!!
I do promise to be a much better blogger from now on. Pinky promise.
And Sarah, I have no clue why you can't blow my pics up, but I would love to know why because that always drives me nuts on other blogs. (& can you also tell me why all these last 3 paragraphs are next to each other and won't space out)?!?

Rainy Day Randoms

I woke up this morning with a summer cold. The kids at the Day Center I'm working at this summer have been sharing it around, and I finally caught it. Its pouring down rain and I don't really wanna get out in it & there isn't much medicine I can take to help, so I just stayed at home today....which made Chloe a very happy girl!!

Our dog is seriously so rotten...I'm pretty sure she thinks she is human. She is a "daddys girl" though and loves to play and nap with him. I walked in the den the other day and found them napping like this....

Such an innocent face....

We went to Monroe on Saturday night with Ashley and our friends, Scott and Britney Snell. Our main goal.....to eat at Olive Garden!! Oh my I love that place, but I found that eating that much right now is not good! I payed for it later, but I definitely loved it!!

Ashley and her "date" =)

This is what happens when you take these two "kids" shopping with you....
